Anwen – conscious hair care based on porosity

Anwen is a Polish brand that started as a blog. Anna Kołomycew, a hair enthusiast known online as Anwen, wrote about hair care for a long time before deciding to create her own products. In 2015 she founded the company Anwen Sp. z o.o. in Kraków. The whole brand is built on one idea: you choose your products by your hair's porosity, meaning how much the cuticle scales on the hair's surface lift and how your hair absorbs whatever you put on it. According to the manufacturer, the formulas are also designed to keep the PEH balance, between proteins, emollients and humectants. Brand range

Conditioners by porosity: the heart of the brand. You choose them by how your hair absorbs products: low porosity, medium or high porosity. They include protein, emollient and humectant conditioners, and if you don't know your porosity, there is also Nawilżający Bez for every hair type. Browse hair conditioners.
Wish me PEH: conditioners the manufacturer calls balanced. There are two versions: for medium and for high porosity.
Leave-in conditioners: they stay on your hair. Here too there are emollient, humectant and protein versions.
Shampoos: gentle, chosen for your scalp, dry and sensitive or normal and oily. For a deeper wash there are enzyme and exfoliating shampoos. Pick one for yourself from our shampoos.
Scalp care: a separate shelf of scalp lotions, scrubs and serums, including the Aware Scalp Care series. Among the scalp lotions is the herbal, warming Grow Me Tender.

How to choose

The easiest way is to start with what bothers you about your hair. Is it frizzy, tangled and rough? The manufacturer describes high-porosity hair this way, so start there. Is it smooth but goes flat quickly? According to the manufacturer, this is how low-porosity hair behaves, as it is easily weighed down, so go for lighter, less rich care. Most hair is somewhere in the middle, meaning medium porosity. Once you know your porosity, you can build a whole routine from it: shampoo, conditioner, plus an oil, a mist or a leave-in conditioner. If you are still not sure, the manufacturer advises observing your hair and comparing it with the porosity descriptions. There are also conditioners for every porosity.
